- Whisk brown sugar, pineapple juice, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and cayenne until smooth. The glaze should look glossy.
- Pour the Lil’ Smokies into the slow cooker and pour the glaze over them, stirring to coat every sausage.
- Stir in pineapple chunks so you get bursts of fruit in each scoop.
- Cover and cook on Low for 4 hours or on High for 2 hours.
- Stir occasionally; you’ll see the sauce thicken and cling to the sausages. The surface should look sticky and shiny when done.
- Taste one—sausages should be hot through and the glaze slightly syrupy. Serve warm with toothpicks for easy snacking.
Notes
Make the glaze the night before and refrigerate; pour over sausages in the morning. Use low-sodium soy sauce and add more pineapple juice if the glaze is too salty. Add smoked paprika for a smoky twist.
