Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar until fluffy and light.
- Add all-purpose flour and fine salt to the mixture, mixing just until combined.
- Transfer the crust mixture to a lined 9×13-inch pan, pressing it down evenly and docking with a fork.
- Place in the oven and bake for 18-20 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.
Filling Preparation
- While the crust bakes, whisk together the eggs, light corn syrup, packed light brown sugar, melted unsalted butter, vanilla extract, and fine salt.
- Fold in the chopped and lightly toasted pecans into the filling.
Assembly
- Once the crust is done, pour the filling over the hot crust and spread it evenly.
- Return the pan to the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until the center is set and does not jiggle.
- Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before lifting them out using the parchment paper and cutting into squares.
Notes
Allow the bars to cool completely to help them set properly. Using fresh ingredients greatly enhances flavors. Lightly toast pecans to intensify their flavor.
