Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time.
- Mix in the milk, fresh lemon juice, and lemon zest until fully combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture until just blended.
- Gently fold in the fresh blueberries.
Baking
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan before transferring it to a wire rack.
Frosting
- In a bowl, beat the cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Spread the frosting on top of the cooled cake.
