Preparation
- Boil 8 oz of spaghetti or linguine according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, melt 4 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat until bubbling.
Cooking
- Stir in 4 cloves of minced garlic and ½ teaspoon of red pepper flakes, cooking until fragrant (about 1 minute).
- Add 1 lb of peeled and deveined shrimp to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook until pink and opaque, around 3-5 minutes.
- Toss the cooked pasta into the skillet with the shrimp, adding juice from 1 lemon and 2 tablespoons of chopped parsley.
- Serve hot with ¼ cup of grated Parmesan cheese on top.
Notes
For best results, bring shrimp to room temperature and avoid overcrowding the pan. Use a thermometer to ensure shrimp reaches 120°F (49°C) for perfect cooking. Variations include spicy garlic shrimp, vegetarian options, and cheesy garlic shrimp pasta.
