Sauce Ingredients
  • 1 cup pineapple juice Use fresh for a brighter flavor.
  • 1/4 cup finely diced fresh pineapple Optional but excellent.
  • 1-2 pieces jalapeƱos or 1 habanero, finely minced Use jalapeƱos for milder heat.
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar or lime juice Both options work.
  • 1 tbsp butter Unsalted preferred to control salt level.
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • pinch red pepper flakes Optional for extra heat.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Put a small saucepan over medium heat and add the pineapple juice, diced pineapple, and minced peppers.
  2. Stir in the honey and butter until the butter melts and the honey loosens.
  3. Add the apple cider vinegar or lime, garlic powder, and salt, then stir and taste to adjust seasoning.
  4. Keep the heat steady to allow the sauce to simmer until it thickens, about 8 minutes.
  5. For a chunky drizzle, leave as is, or blend briefly for a smooth glaze.

Notes

Store in a sealed jar for up to 7 days in the fridge or freeze in cubes for 2-3 months. Use as a drizzle over various dishes for added flavor.
