Preparation
  1. In a large pot, bring 10 cups of chicken stock to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  2. Once cooked, remove the chicken breasts, shred them with two forks, and set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together self-rising flour, black pepper, eggs, melted butter, and milk until smooth.
Cooking
  1. Drop spoonfuls of dumpling dough into the simmering broth and cover. Let them cook for about 15-20 minutes, until fluffy and cooked through.
  2. Gently fold the shredded chicken back into the pot with the dumplings for the final few minutes of cooking.
  3. Adjust seasoning with parsley flakes and pepper to taste before serving.
