  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
Filling Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Icing Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese Use room-temperature for smoother icing.
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the milk and melted butter; mix until a soft dough forms.
  4. Dust a surface with flour and roll the dough into a rectangle about 10x8 inches.
  5. Spread melted butter over the dough, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon evenly.
  6. Roll the dough tightly from one short end, pinch the seam, and slice into 1-inch rolls.
  7. Place rolls on a baking sheet with space between them.
Baking and Icing
  1. Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  2. While the rolls are baking, beat together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Drizzle the icing over warm rolls once they’re out of the oven.

Notes

Mix icing while the rolls bake to save time. If dough feels dry, add 1 tablespoon more milk. A pinch of nutmeg or cardamom can add warmth.
