Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Spoon a thin, even layer of marinara on the dish bottom to prevent ravioli from sticking.
- Lay a single layer of ravioli over the sauce, snug but not crowded.
- Sprinkle a generous layer of cheese so it melts into every crevice.
- Repeat layers until you use all the ravioli and sauce, finishing with a thick blanket of cheese on top.
Baking
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake another 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden with tiny brown spots.
- Let it rest for 5 minutes to thicken the sauce.
Notes
For crisp edges, use a ceramic or glass baking dish. For a simple variation, stir fresh basil into the top layer for added brightness. Store covered in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze in portions for up to 2 months.
