Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, toss the sliced Granny Smith apples with 1/2 cup sugar and ground cinnamon until evenly coated.
Assembly
  1. Unroll the refrigerated pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate and flute the edges.
  2. Pack the apple mixture evenly into the crust.
Crumble Topping
  1. In a small bowl, mix 1/2 cup sugar and 3/4 cup flour.
  2. Grate cold butter into this mixture and combine until it resembles small peas.
  3. Sprinkle the crumble over the apples.
Baking
  1. Place the assembled pie in the preheated oven and bake for 40-50 minutes until the apples are tender and the crumble is golden brown.
  2. Cover with foil if necessary to prevent over-browning.
