  • 1 lb Lean ground beef Using lean beef helps keep this dish hearty without overwhelming it with grease.
  • 2 tbsp Taco seasoning This blend adds that essential Mexican flavor, perfect for beef dishes.
  • 1 medium Iceberg lettuce, chopped Crisp and refreshing, it provides the perfect base for the salad.
  • 1 large Tomato, diced Adds freshness and flavor to the salad.
  • 1-2 cups Nacho cheese Doritos These add satisfying crunch and cheese flavor.
  • 1 cup Catalina dressing Ties all the flavors together beautifully.

Method
 

Cooking the Beef
  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the ground beef and cook for about 5–7 minutes, breaking it apart, until browned and no longer pink.
  3. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of taco seasoning over the beef, stirring to combine. Add a splash of water if needed. Cook for another 2–3 minutes.
Preparing the Salad
  1. In a large mixing bowl, add chopped iceberg lettuce and diced tomato.
  2. Allow the beef to cool slightly before adding it to the mixing bowl with the veggies.
Assembling the Salad
  1. Just before serving, add nacho cheese Doritos and pour Catalina dressing over the mixture.
  2. Toss well until everything is evenly coated.
  3. Adjust seasoning if needed. Top with sour cream and guacamole if desired.

Notes

For best texture, add Doritos just before serving. You can customize with spicy elements or vegetarian options as desired.
