Preparation
- Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sirloin strips and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until browned on all sides.
- In a small bowl, dissolve 1 beef bouillon cube in ⅔ cup hot water. Whisk in 1 tablespoon of cornstarch until smooth, then add 3 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of brown sugar, and 2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce.
Cooking
- Pour the bouillon mixture into the crockpot. Add the sautéed beef along with 1 cup of chopped onions and season to taste with freshly ground black pepper.
- Cover and cook on high for 3 hours or low for 6-7 hours, stirring occasionally.
- About 1 hour before serving, stir in 2 sliced bell peppers and cook until tender.
Serving
- Enjoy hot over rice, noodles, or mashed potatoes.
