Ingredients
  

Pasta Ingredients
  • 8 ounces Shell pasta Use whole grain for extra nutrition.
Meat and Sauce Ingredients
  • 1 pound Ground beef Recommend 80/20 for the best flavor and juiciness.
  • 1 small Onion, diced Enhances the flavor.
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 cup Beef broth
  • 1 cup Heavy cream For a luxurious, velvety sauce.
  • 1 cup Shredded cheese Cheddar or mozzarella recommended.

Method
 

Cooking the Pasta
  1. Boil the shell pasta according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
Cooking the Beef
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon until no longer pink, about 6-8 minutes.
  2. Stir in the diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
Building the Sauce
  1. Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer.
  2. Add in the heavy cream and shredded cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
Combining
  1. Mix the cooked shell pasta into the sauce, tossing to coat. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

Pro Tips: Don't overcrowd the pan for even browning of beef. Bring ingredients to room temperature for even melting of cheese. Make extra sauce for serving over bread or rice.
