Method
Preparation
- Boil 2 cups of pasta in salted water until barely tender, about 8 minutes. Drain and set aside, but do not rinse.
- Steam or boil fresh broccoli for 2-3 minutes, or thaw and dry frozen broccoli to soften it before mixing.
- In a large bowl, mix together the cooked pasta, chicken, broccoli, Alfredo sauce, half of the mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic, salt, and pepper. If the mixture seems thick, add milk for creaminess.
Baking
- Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 baking dish. Top with the remaining mozzarella and sprinkle some additional Parmesan over the top.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden. Optionally, broil for 1-2 minutes to achieve a crispy top.
- Let the casserole sit for 5 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld perfectly.
Notes
For best results, bring ingredients to room temperature before starting. Don't skip the garlic for added flavor. Use a rich Alfredo sauce for the best outcome.
