Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups pasta (penne, rotini, or shells) Choose your desired type of pasta.
  • 2 cups cooked chicken (shredded) Rotisserie chicken works well to save time.
  • 2 cups broccoli (fresh or frozen) Adds color and nutrients to the dish.
  • 1 jar Alfredo sauce Using high-quality store-bought sauce is recommended.
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese (shredded) Divided into two portions for topping.
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese (grated) Used for topping.
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced) Infuses the dish with flavor.
  • to taste salt and pepper Season according to preference.
  • milk optional for creaminess Add if the mixture seems thick.

Method

Preparation
  1. Boil 2 cups of pasta in salted water until barely tender, about 8 minutes. Drain and set aside, but do not rinse.
  2. Steam or boil fresh broccoli for 2-3 minutes, or thaw and dry frozen broccoli to soften it before mixing.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the cooked pasta, chicken, broccoli, Alfredo sauce, half of the mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic, salt, and pepper. If the mixture seems thick, add milk for creaminess.
Baking
  1. Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 baking dish. Top with the remaining mozzarella and sprinkle some additional Parmesan over the top.
  2. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden. Optionally, broil for 1-2 minutes to achieve a crispy top.
  3. Let the casserole sit for 5 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld perfectly.

Notes

For best results, bring ingredients to room temperature before starting. Don't skip the garlic for added flavor. Use a rich Alfredo sauce for the best outcome.
