Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Cut in the chilled butter using a pastry cutter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually stir in the buttermilk until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently just a few times.
- Roll the dough to about 1 inch thick and cut into rounds using a biscuit cutter.
Baking
- Place biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
