Wet Ingredients
  • 3 medium ripe bananas The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful your brownies will be; look for ones with lots of brown spots.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted Use high-quality butter for best richness.
  • 1 cup brown sugar Adds moisture and a caramel-like flavor.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar Ensures a well-balanced sweetness.
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Provides structure to the brownies.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Optional Add-ins
  • 1 cup chopped nuts Preferably walnuts or pecans for added crunch.
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips for a rich flavor.
Frosting Ingredients
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until well blended.
  3. Stir in the mashed bananas, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt, then fold into the wet mixture.
  5. Gently fold in chopped nuts and/or chocolate chips if desired.
Baking
  1. Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  2. Allow the brownies to cool completely before preparing the frosting.
Frosting
  1. In a bowl, mix powdered sugar, cream cheese, and milk until smooth and creamy, then spread it over the cooled brownies.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven at 350°F for about 10 minutes.
